Delicious Home Made Cherry Breakfast Loaf

My wife did this delicious bread in our nuwave oven for breakfast so I decided to share it so you could enjoy a nice delicious warm slice of bread/toast with your coffee in the morning :)

  Ingredients (prep time aprox 15 mins)

  • 1 &1/2 cups of all purpose flour and 1tbsp of flour on the side
  • 3/4 of a cup of firmly packed light brown sugar and 1 tbsp of light brown sugar on the side
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk ( if you don't have buttermilk handy, 1/2 cup plain yogurt can be substituted)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 lrg egg (beaten)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup diced dried  cherries
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Makes 1 delicious Loaf



Note: Remember to keep from burning your self while handling Hot Items, Safety first! 


K now to put this baby together..
(Bake time aprox 50-60 mins)

  1. Preheat oven to 325F Lightly coat an 8x4 in loaf pan with cooking spray
  2. Combine 1& 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, baking soda and salt in a large bowl, 
  3. Mix the buttermilk, oil, egg and vanilla in a small bowl
  4. Combine buttermilk mixture with flour mixture in large bowl and stir until moistened, then stir in the cherries and pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. Combine butter, remaining flour and brown sugar in another small bowl, mix until well blended, stir in walnuts & sprinkle over batter.
  6. Put pan in oven and bake about 50-60 mins or until toothpick inserted in the middle of loaf comes out clean.
  7. Take pan out of the oven and let  the loaf cool in pan for 10 mins, then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.

Now That you have finished baking this awesome bread you can get the morning paper and walk to the balcony and sit there with your cup of coffee and slices of bread and enjoy your morning.
